The goal of 2YC
3 Report
is to show the role two-year colleges play in chemical
education, with emphasis on the innovative ways two-year
college instructors meet the needs of the diverse,
non-traditional students enrolled in two-year colleges.
To quote a college president, "We don't recruit stars,
we make them."
One purpose of this feature is to share what chemistry instructors
at various two-year colleges around the country are doing. The
source for many of the articles is from the Two-Year College
Chemistry Regional Conferences. A second purpose is to have
leaders in education, government and ACS share their thoughts
and perspectives on two-year colleges. Articles are solicited
from a variety of sources. In addition to outstanding chemistry
teachers from all over the country, authors have included a
Congressman, an official from the Department of Education, the
President of ACS, and the President of the United States.
