Mission Statement
The goal of JCE VIPEr is to highlight current exemplary materials and best practices in teaching inorganic chemistry taken from the Virtual Inorganic Pedagogical Electronic Resource: VIPEr and encourage participation in a vibrant community of inorganic chemists. In each column, we will publish abstracts of tested and community-reviewed learning objects, such as laboratories, problem sets, Web resources, and in-class activities. These abstracts can be written either by the author of the learning object or they can come from members of the broader community who want to draw attention to learning objects that they have tested in class. Highlights describing any VIPEr learning object are welcome. We are particularly interested in submissions that are based upon current advances in the field of inorganic chemistry, are student centered, are inquiry rich, require higher-order thinking (analysis, synthesis, evaluation), or make use of emerging technologies to enhance student learning.
