The cover shows a tremolite lattice. Opposing chains comprised 6-membered
rings of polymerized SiO4 tetrahedra, linked by octahedra and
cross-linked
by distorted cubic Ca2+ sites. The ability to zoom in, expand, rotate, and
highlight atoms and symmetry-related groupings and to visualize such complex
structures in stereo is a compelling reason for using computer models rather
than hand-held mechanical models as discussed in the article "Interdisciplinary
Learning with Computational
Chemistry: A Collaboration between Chemistry and Geology" by Kenny B.
