Abstract
Numerous articles on laboratory balances have appeared in the Journal. While many describe mundane weighing procedures, several contributions are useful as references on balance design or as historical sources. Of the latter, Ralph E. Oesper's "Some Famous Balances" traces the relationship of scientific advances to laboratory balances and the researchers who used them.
