January 2007 Featured on the Cover
Chemical reactions as observed through a dissecting microscope. Inspire awe and curiosity in students with these “exocharmic” reactions! The cover shows one of a sequence of photos taken after a small crystal of K2Cr2O7(s) was pushed into a droplet of AgNO3(aq) on the stage of a microscope. The beautiful crystals of Ag2CrO4(s) that form are sure to elicit “Wow!” and “Cool!” responses. This reaction and others are described in detail in Ramette’s article of this issue.

The cover was designed by Betsy True.

Chemistry Teacher Connection

The "Chemistry Teacher Connection" (CTC) is especially for high school chemistry teachers. For only $40/year, it offers an online-only subscription to CLIC along with membership in the Division of Chemical Education, normally $65/year. CTC subscribers receive access to all articles and supplements from 1996 through the current issue.

C&EN CLICs

Through special arrangement with the ACS, JCE High School CLIC is now able to provide subscribers with online access to Chemical & Engineering News articles that have been selected specifically for secondary science instructors and their students.
