Back to Web Sites Category List

Biochemistry Teaching Resources by Barry Ganong

  • This web site describes biochemistry courses offered at Mansfield University. The courses offered are: Organic and Biochemistry, Introduction to Biochemistry, and Biochemistry courses. (5/2009)

Science is Fun in the Lab of Shakhashiri

  • Maintained by University of Wisconsin-Madison Chemistry Professor Bassam Z. Shakhashiri, this site features science experiments you can do at home, chemical of the week fact sheets, supporting materials for general chemistry courses, and links to related chemistry sites and science periodicals. Ordering information for books and videos with chemistry demonstrations is provided. (5/2009)

Project Labs

  • Contains lesson plans and hands-on activities for grades K-12 produced by Project Learning About Basic Science (LABS), a cooperative program for science teachers. The activities are grouped into three categories: general, physical, and natural/environmental/biological sciences, many of which are in PDF format. Worksheets are provided with many of the activities. (5/2009)

Educational Web Labs

  • This web site is a collection of interactive laboratory experiments. It is designed to give the user a 'hands on' simulation of manipulating laboratory equipment and working through mathematical problems. Procedures are followed that require actual step by step execution in order to complete the labs. Items can be broken, spilled, mismeasured and misused, simulating an actual lab situation. Feedback to teachers is provided. (5/2009)

Chemistry Teacher Connection

The "Chemistry Teacher Connection" (CTC) is especially for high school chemistry teachers. For only $40/year, it offers an online-only subscription to CLIC along with membership in the Division of Chemical Education, normally $65/year. CTC subscribers receive access to all articles and supplements from 1996 through the current issue.

C&EN CLICs

Through special arrangement with the ACS, JCE High School CLIC is now able to provide subscribers with online access to Chemical & Engineering News articles that have been selected specifically for secondary science instructors and their students.

JCE Collections Available
Occasionally, collections of JCE back issues become available for donation to individual teachers, schools, or libraries. JCE matches collections with interested recipients. Recipients pay shipping costs or pick up the collection.
