Discussion Pipetting from a volumetric flask is not a safe laboratory practice. Volumetric flasks are likely to tip and break when a pipet is inserted into the neck of the flask. Instead, transfer the solution to a clean, dry storage container (a beaker, Erlenmeyer flask, or plastic storage bottle) for further use. NEVER store solutions in a volumetric flask. Narrative Pour a small amount of the prepared solution into the storage bottle to rinse. Thoroughly wet all the internal surfaces of the storage bottle. Transfer the remaining solution to the bottle. Use a cap to prevent changes in concentration over time. |
