This movie shows all possible meniscus readings for a 50 mL buret. It was designed to provide a source of images that can be used to give students practice in reading a meniscus or for multimedia presentations or tutorials where students might determine the volume of liquid a graduated cylinder as part of a virtual experiment. You can use the movie control bar to step through the movie frame-by-frame to locate the frame that displays a desired reading or simply to display a frame and ask students to read the value. Individual frames can easily be copied from the movie and inserted into presentations such as PowerPoint slide shows for use in class or pasted into word processing documents that can be printed and distributed to students as work sheets.
