Chemistry Comes Alive!
Instructor's Notes

See the User Forum to learn how others use Chemistry Comes Alive!, or to post your questions or suggestions.

The list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) in the Technical Support section of the Chemistry Comes Alive WWW site will answer many questions about how to use Chemistry Comes Alive! in the classroom.

The JCE Software staff hosted several workshops this summer to help instructors learn how to incorporate video and still images from Chemistry Comes Alive! into their own classroom presentations. The Workshop Materials, including detailed instructions for finding video in the CCA! collection, transferring files from CCA! CD-ROMs, incorporating video into PowerPoint or other Office applications, and incorporating video into WWW pages is available online.

Specific Instructor's Notes are available for some Chemistry Comes Alive! Volumes and are shown below.

Chemistry Comes Alive! Volume 4
In Reactions in Aqueous Solutions, the quiz key for the matrix problem tells which chemicals are being mixed in the file name for the movie that is loaded. You can see the movie file name in the Status Bar at the bottom of the browser screen when you click or mouse over a matrix cell.

Chemistry Comes Alive! Volume 5
HIV-1 Protease: An Enzyme at Work was originally published by JCE Software as a VHS Video tape with a printed manual for instructors. The manual has been edited slightly and converted to PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format and included on the Chemistry Comes Alive! Volume 5 CD-ROM, along with the video. The PDF file is also available for download.

Adobe Acrobat Reader (download) is required to view the file.
