Here you will find information and links to additional resources for teachers, students, and developers.

Resources for Teachers
Resources for Teachers JCE Software is a good place to find tools that help teach chemistry. Solid State Resources and Inorganic Molecules (on the General Chemistry Collection) were developed specifically for teacher presentations. Most other JCE Software publications include suggestions for use, lesson plans, or answers to questions asked of students. Instructors notes for programs included in General Chemistry Collection and Advanced Chemistry Collection are available online. General Chemistry Collection now includes a new Windows version of SIRs: Simulations and Interactive Resources that was designed especially for use by instructors.

If you use your own Power Point presentations in class, Chemistry Comes Alive! is a fabulous source of still images and QuickTime movies that you can easily incorporate into your side shows. See the JCE Video Workshop for help to get you started or contact us for a list of upcoming meeting s where the workshop will be offered. If you want to make your slide shows available to students outside of class, both local area and wide area (WWW) network licensing is available for Chemistry Comes Alive!

JCE Forums are now available for many topics related to chemistry education. Special User Forums for JCE Software have been established to facilitate discussions about using software and video in teaching chemistry. You can share your ideas and experiences and learn from others!

General Chemistry programs for computers running MS-DOS are now available to Journal subscribers for free download. The original DOS version of SIRs is included.

Resources for Students
Resources for Students Chemistry students are always looking for a better way to learn chemistry. JCE Software's General Chemistry Collection offers a plethora of computer-based learning tools for the general chemistry or high school student. All of our programs that pertain to general chemistry are contained on this CD-ROM, for both Windows and Mac OS. And it's priced for students too!

When students have outgrown the General Chemistry Collection, they are ready for JCE Software's Advanced Chemistry Collection. This CD-ROM contains programs appropriate for use in organic, analytical, and physical chemistry courses. It includes such topics as spectroscopy, NMR, chromatography, quantum chemistry, chemical dynamics.

Resources for Developers
Resources for Developers JCE Software has a large collection of still images, computer animations, and video that you can incorporate in your multimedia presentations, lessons, tutorials, quizzes, etc. Check the JCE Software License Agreement for restrictions and limitations. Video can also be licensed by the megabyte for use on the World Wide Web. And remember, JCE Software welcomes the submission of instructional media that incorporate our images and video. See the Guide to Submissions of Software and Video for details.

Much of the JCE Software Video Collection focuses on chemical reactions. Examples include the Chemistry Comes Alive! CD-ROM series and ChemDemos and ChemDemos II videodiscs. You will also find an large collection of laboratory techniques for general , analytical, and organic chemistry illustrated on CD-ROMs, videodisc and videotape.

JCE Software is very pleased to have published some examples of applications created using video from the Chemistry Comes Alive! collection. These include General Chemistry Multimedia Problems and ChemPages Laboratory. Video used in Periodic Table Live! and Solid State Resources is also included in the Chemistry Comes Alive! Collection.

If you cannot find the reaction or image you need in the material already published using our online search of Chemistry Comes Alive!, contact us! We have a great deal of video in our collection awaiting publication. And we have a access to professional video equipment and a videographer in the University of Wisconsin-Madison Chemistry Department. Several visiting faculty (and one visiting high school student!) have come to UW-Madison with ideas for movies that will assist in the teaching and learning of chemistry and helped to make those ideas reality.
