Featured Molecules September 2002

This month's molecule is sulfur dichloride, SCl₂. This and other small inorganic molecules are discussed in the article by Matta and Gillespie. They describe electron density in molecules and how to analyze it to obtain information about molecular bonding and structure. Different depictions of electron density in SCl₂ and other small molecules emphasize different aspects of their electron density and of the structures of the molecules.
