JCE’s Reviewed WWW Sites is now affiliated with MERLOT Chemistry.

JCE has joined this collaboration with MERLOT to provide JCE subscribers with a new forum of web-based chemical education resources. 

MERLOT is a digital library of peer reviewed, online teaching resources.  On MERLOT you can find great chemistry online teaching resources.  You no longer have to search the internet for useful sites to help you teach in the classroom.  MERLOT sites are reviewed by your Peers, trained members who can assess the quality and applicability of submitted sites.  You can Browse the MERLOT Chemistry Collection by subject or you can Search Chemistry Materials by keywords.  To find out more about the MERLOT Project, visit their Tasting Room.  You can also learn about the MERLOT Review Process, as well as the Peer Review Standards for Chemistry on their website.

Both JCE and MERLOT are committed to improving the effectiveness of teaching and learning through the use of quality teaching and learning materials.  JCE’s affiliation with MERLOT Chemistry will allow an established community of educators dedicated to excellence in teaching to join a new world of online pedagogy.  To initiate this collaboration, many of JCE’s online materials will be added to MERLOT’s collection in the coming months, allowing more chemical educators to experience our remarkable resources.  We hope that our current JCE subscribers will also collaborate with our new affiliate by contributing their membership, learning resources, and teaching expertise.
