Abstract
It is difficult to maintain student enthusiasm in large (over 350 students) lecture classes. Many useful strategies have been employed including demonatrations, computer simulations, prepared video material, etc. Recently at Michigan Technological University student generated limericks based on assigned chemistry have been read during lecture. Examples of some of these limericks are presented as well as some observations on the process.
