Simple Rules for Determining Nuclear Stability and Type of Radioactive Decay

Abstract
Simple rules are presented which can be used to predict nuclear stability and type of radioactive decay for unstable nuclides. These rules predict the stability of nuclides with an accuracy of greater than 95%. These rules are easy to learn and apply and help the student to understand the factors which influence nuclear stability.
