Abstract
A microscale synthesis of the complexes [Ni(cyclam)](CF3SO3)2 and [Ni(cyclam)Cl2]CF3SO3 involving a direct metallation reaction is presented. The electrochemical oxidation of [Ni(cyclam)]2+ is monitored spectrophotometrically using an optically transparent thin-layer electrode. A spectropotentiometric titration yields an E value of 0.64 V vs. Ag/AgCl for the complex in a sulfate medium.
