Abstract
In this paper, we describe a laboratory experiment for chemical equivalent determination of an unknown metal that can react with mineral acids evolving hydrogen, using the proposed methodology. The goals of this methodology are:
* Students must devise their own aspect of the experiment.

* Discuss this with the instructor, and

* Learn to use the literature in order to introduce them to scientific methodology.
