Abstract
A previous note in this Journal [J. Chem. Educ. 1995, 72, 440] described the installation of a water reservoir that greatly facilitates the unattended operation of atomic absorption, emission, and plasma spectrophotometers. A further refinement is detailed here, that relates to the closure of gas valves supplying plasma spectrophotometers in particular, although chromatographs can be similarly modified.
