Abstract
To circumvent the limitations of spectrometers such as cost, learning the component parts or understanding the fundamental operation of the spectrometer in introductory spectrometry for students and learning institutions, a computer-assisted visible photometer known as the PVC Photometer was designed. This paper describes the design and construction of the PVC Photometer, as well as the accompanying software that has been published by J. Chem. Educ. Software (Gammon, Steven D. PSL Photometer J. Chem. Educ. Software 4D 2.).
