Abstract
A curve fitting approach has been used to determine the endpoint of a potentiometric titration. Here, the titration curve is assumed to be an arctangent function with four adjustable parameters. By systematically adjusting these parameters, the titration endpoint can be determined with the help of a spreadsheet. This approach is found to yield an endpoint comparable to the commonly used smoothing average approach.
