Abstract
A chemistry outreach program at Simmons College is described. It involves undergraduate women majoring in science, who conduct chemistry demonstrations for inner-city middle school students. The program is aimed at sparking interest in science among inner-city middle school girls by presenting science in fun, exciting experiments. By providing these girls with women role models and hands-on experiments that relate to everyday life, we hope to encourage many girls to consider a career in science.
