Abstract
The course Professional Ethics for Scientists provides opportunities for undergraduate students to learn professional norms of behavior in science and to practice the evaluation and selection of courses of action in response to the ethical challenges of daily scientific work through case studies and discussion. The course focuses on ethics as a basis for excellence and professionalism in science with respect to collection, interpretation, and publication of data, interactions with coworkers and society, and preservation of the earth's ecosystems. A course outline and references to a wide variety of printed and World Wide Web materials are provided.

The author has provided materials at her web site: www.towson.edu/~sweeting/ethics/ethicsyl.htm.
