Abstract
The smart use of intercalation chemistry and the forces of self-assembly now enable chemists to mimic nature in designing new materials that may revolutionize advanced technology industries. Nanocomposites exhibit new or significantly improved properties compared to those of the component phases owing to quantum confinement and large specific area interfacial interactions. These properties have the potential to enhance materials applications. This article discusses various synthetic approaches to polymers containing nanocomposites and their application properties.
