Abstract
The Bohr theory of the hydrogen atom postulates integer values for the quantum number, but integers arise automatically in the Schrödinger theory. I use (but do not derive) explicit expressions for the individual parts of the orbitals to show how the usual freshman rules for the n,l,m quantum numbers of the hydrogen atom orbitals follow easily from the mathematics and need not be postulated.
