Abstract
The necessity of drying standard reagents has been investigated using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). Results indicate that drying reagents for one or more hours is in many cases unnecessary, when these materials are used in student analytical experiments. When limited accuracy is not required, drying is not needed.
