A broad goal of chemistry courses is to prepare students to be independent problem solvers. As described in the article by Hollenbeck et al., one such course was recently revised and updated to more effectively prepare undergraduate chemistry students for their first independent research experience. The cover illustrates undergraduate organic chemistry students presenting the results of their research projects at a poster session at the University of WisconsinMadison attended by fellow students, faculty, and staff. This article discusses two of this months themes: undergraduate research and -pharmaceuticals.
Our Secondary School editors work hard to distill all the JCE materials to produce a fraction of particular interest to high school teachers. We call it CLIC.
In recent years we have worked hard to better match our advertisers with our readers. When shopping for chemistry education materials, visit our advertisers' WWW sites first.
Take JCE along on your outreach missions. Copies of the Journal, guest access to JCE Online, our publications catalog, and more are available for your participants.
