Abstract
Treatment of d-fructose with methanol in the presence of acid as a catalyst gives a mixture of methyl-β-d-fructopyranoside, methyl-α-D-fructofuranoside, and methyl-β-d-fructofuranoside, which were separated on an ion exchange column and characterized polarimetrically.
