Celebrating National Chemistry Week (NCW). NCW is a community-based annual event that unites American Chemical Society (ACS) local sections, businesses, schools, and individuals in communicating the importance of chemistry to our quality of life. Having a Ball with Chemistry is this year’s NCW theme, to be celebrated October 19–25, 2008, with an emphasis on applications of chemistry in sports. The cover features different ways to play with balls, in part made possible by the many different chemicals used to make sporting equipment. See articles throughout the issue to help you make the most of this annual celebration.
Our Secondary School editors work hard to distill all the JCE materials to produce a fraction of particular interest to high school teachers. We call it CLIC.
In recent years we have worked hard to better match our advertisers with our readers. When shopping for chemistry education materials, visit our advertisers' WWW sites first.
Take JCE along on your outreach missions. Copies of the Journal, guest access to JCE Online, our publications catalog, and more are available for your participants.
