A color-change reaction is described in which invisible writing on paper is made to appear as violet upon being sprayed with a liquid. The reaction uses chemicals readily available on the retail market: aspirin tablets, washing soda, vinegar, iron supplement tablets, and liquid chlorine laundry bleach.
