JCE Software License Agreement
All JCE Software publications are licensed, not sold, to you by JCE Software for use under the terms of this license. JCE Software reserves any right not expressly granted to you. You own the media on which the publication is recorded, but JCE Software and its licensors retain ownership of the publication itself. You are responsible for the installation, management, and operation of the publication. You also agree to use your best efforts to prevent its unauthorized use.

This license allows you to:

  • Copy or use software on no more than the number of computers specified by the type of license purchased. You may make one additional copy for backup purposes.
  • Make as many copies as needed of pages in the documentation that are marked "User Reproducible".
  • Temporarily copy a portion of a videodisc no longer than 5 minutes to videotape for use in your own classroom presentation. Such copies must be destroyed within one month of the presentation.
  • Incorporate images and video clips into your own classroom presentations. Files continuing these images and video may be copied onto the media that contains the presentation. Such presentations may not be used outside your classroom or for any commercial purposes without written permission from JCE Software.

Restrictions

You may not transmit all or any portion of the software or video over a network, telephone, modem, or using any electronic devise except in the following cases:

  • You have purchased a network license
  • You have written permission from JCE Software to do so.
You may not modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works except as outlined above without the written permission of JCE Software.

Limited Warranty

If you discover physical defects in the materials distributed by JCE Software, the affected components will be replaced at no charge to you during a 60-day period from the date of issue. No claims can be allowed for issues lost as a result of insufficient notice of change of address. In no event will JCE Software be liable for direct or indirect damage to the disk or written materials after the subscriber receives the material intact.

Although these programs have been peer reviewed and revised, there is no warranty on JCE Software, either expressed or implied. As a result, the subscriber is purchasing an issue "as is", and assumes the risk as to its quality and performance. JCE Software makes no representation, expressed or implied, with regard to the accuracy of the information contained herein and cannot accept any legal responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions that may be made.

Experiments, laboratory exercises, lecture demonstrations, and other descriptions of the use of chemicals, apparatus, instruments, computers, and computer interfaces are presented in JCE Softwareas illustrative of new or improved ideas or concepts in chemistry instruction and are directed at qualified teachers. Although every effort is made to assure and encourage safe practices and safe use of chemicals, Journal of Chemical Education Softwarecannot assume responsibility for uses made of its published materials.
